True to Gelfand form, the 2019 Zinfandel greets you with white pepper and blackberry jam on the nose followed by a spicy fruit mix on the palate...almost as if you cooked the fruit together on your stove and blended the best flavors altogether. The full tannins and ripe flavors lead you to a hint of vanilla with that classic chalky finish coating front to back.
This delicious blend of Zinfandel and Syrah is ready to open a bottle tonight! The fruit is really showing well right, with fresh boysenberries on the front and blackberry pie on the finish. Interspersed with vanilla, nutmeg, all-spice and more vibrant fruit. Not to worry, this one isn't all fruit.. In the mouth you will also experience black pepper and fresh cut grassl...it's perfectly balanced and bold at the same time and pulls from the best characteristics of both Zinfandel and Syrah. If every harvest produces a Zirah like this one, we're going to up production IMMEDIATELY!
